New Artist Guest of Honor!
We are excited to announce that Grace P. Fong will be the Norwescon 45 Artist Guest of Honor. Grace is a Chinese-American illustrator whose artwork has appeared in Uncanny Magazine, Strange Horizons, and other speculative fiction anthologies. She has been nominated four times for the Best Fan Artist Hugo Award, and won the inaugural Ignyte Award in 2020. She uses her experience as a narrative designer in tabletop/trading card games (Magic: the Gathering) and video gaming (Palia) to inform and educate writers and artists how to work together.
Norwescon 45 Announces COVID Policy
Norwescon 45 will be held in person on April 6-9 at our regular location, the DoubleTree by Hilton SeaTac Airport Hotel. Norwescon 45 will be all masked, all vaxxed. All members, staff, guests, and performers will be required to present proof of full vaccination at registration and wear a mask at all times while in convention space, except when eating and drinking in designated areas. Proof of vaccination will be satisfied by any complete series of of vaccination against COVID-19. We strongly encourage all members to ensure their vaccinations is up-to-date with the most recent booster.

Join the Norwescon Bibliophiles as they begin reading one of the 2023 Philip K. Dick Award nominees!
They will meet on February 20th at 7 pm to discuss one of the nominees!
The February book is January Fifteenth by Rachel Swirsky (240 pages). John Scalzi says Swirsky is one of the best speculative writers of the last decade! This novella is nominated for the 2023 Philip K. Dick Award. More information about the meeting is on the Facebook event.
Youth, Tween, and Teen Programming
Norwescon will offer a full schedule of programming for all of our Norweskids this year: youth (ages 0-8), tweens (ages 9-12), and teens (ages 13-17). Here’s just a taste of what we’ve got planned—storytime, crafts, and dance parties for youth and their families, plus writing workshops, art sessions, and science discussions for tweens and teens. The Monster Mash is back, we’ll have Easter takeaway bags, and so much more!
Charity Items For Sale Throughout the Con!
Norwescon Charities has an exciting announcement! Instead of holding a charity auction on Sunday, we will be selling special items in the art show throughout the convention. The art and other items will be placed in designated areas and refreshed every day – sp please stop by to see what we have to offer! It is all for a good cause.
Another way to support Norwescon is to submit items for donation. We are happy to accept items for our charity sale and as prizes for our volunteers. Please drop donations off in the art show. You can reach out to us about donations at charities@norwescon.org.
Calling All Game Masters!
Norwescon 45 is pleased to announce that scheduled games is being organized and hosted by Dragonflight GameCon. There will be lots of scheduled games, organized play, Artemis, board games, pickup games, and so much more. Please go to the games page on our website for more information.
If you are interested in running a game at Norwescon 45, please fill out the Game Submission form.
Once submitted, your games will be reviewed and then added to our event on Games at Norwescon 45 event on Warhorn. If you have questions about the submission form or using Warhorn, please email games@norwescon.org.

Teen Member Space at Norwescon 45
Norwescon is providing space at Norwescon 45 for teen members, teen staff, and teen professional guests to relax in a safe, fun space that is planned and run by teens. The area is located in Concourse A near the lobby and swimming pool.
The key to the success of this area is that teens will plan and run the space. Please contact personnel@norwescon.org if you are a teen member and are interested in participating in the plan and design! Or tell us what your wish list for the space would be.
Signs Lead
Norwescon is looking for someone to take charge of signage. Signs helps attendees and pros get where they want to be – and there are a LOT of cool places to be at con. We need a well-organized person willing to take on our inventory and work with all departments to ensure signage is readable and accurate.
