Memberships

A Norwescon membership gives you access to all member areas of the convention. You will also be eligible to receive all associated convention publications before, during, and after the convention.

Norwescon 45 will be April 6–9, 2023, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Seattle Airport, in SeaTac, Washington!

Registration

Registration for Norwescon 45 (2023) is now open!

Memberships for the full four-day weekend are $85 through December 31, 2022. The membership price will increase in 2023, so we recommend registering soon to get the best possible deal!

Single-day memberships are only made available at the registration desk during the convention. Rates will be posted before the convention opens.

Why pre-register?

It is one of the age old questions about convention attendance: Do I pre-register, or buy my membership at the door? Below are a few factors to consider for next year.

  1. Pre-registration allows you to lock in a discounted membership price.
If you’re concerned about how expensive fandom conventions are becoming, then getting your membership at a discounted price is probably pretty important. The general rule of thumb is this: the earlier you buy, the cheaper it is. How much cheaper? Sometimes it can be as much as $20. Sometimes it’s as little as $5. Keep an eye on Norwescon’s website and sign up for our eNewsletter mailing list so that you’ll be alerted when memberships become available and when pre-registration deadlines are looming on the horizon.
  2. Pre-registration allows you to (usually) skip the really long “day of” lines.
Aside from saving money, one of the big bonuses to pre-registering for a convention is that you don’t have to wait in line to purchase your membership the morning you arrive. Depending on the time of day and date that you arrive, the lines can be absolutely massive. Pre-registration is almost necessary if you don’t want to waste your precious time in line.
  3. Pre-registering guarantees you admittance.
For years with an attendance cap, pre-registering can be the only way to guarantee yourself entry to the convention. There simply may not be any memberships left come Saturday morning. It would really suck to travel to the con and get to the front doors only to find out that the con is full. If you’re concerned about this, make sure to keep up with announcements on our website and social media channels.

Rules and Guidelines

The official membership guide for Norwescon 45 will be made available in the spring of 2023. Until then the membership guide for Norwescon 44 is available to download (176KB .pdf). We ask all members to abide by our Code of Conduct, along with all other Norwescon policies and guidelines.

NOTE: For Norwescon 44, we implemented COVID vaccination and masking requirements for all attendees. For full details, please see our Norwescon 44 COVID policy.

We are continually keeping an eye on the status of the pandemic and will keep the safety of our volunteers and members in mind as we plan for the upcoming convention. COVID policies for Norwescon 45 will be announced closer to the convention weekend.

Transfers and Rollovers

Though our memberships are non-refundable, if something unexpected happens, don’t worry! Did you purchase your Norwescon membership only to find out that a conflict came up and you won’t be able to attend? Well, we’ll miss you, but you can either transfer your membership to someone else, or simply roll your membership over to use next year. Just download the appropriate form, fill it out, and send it in to the address listed at the top of the form.
