Dances at Norwescon

After sitting in panels and attending more sedentary events during the day, come and get your blood flowing with our themed dances! We have a dance each night at Norwescon (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) and feature many different styles of music and a variety of DJs to get your groove on. Costumes are encouraged and fannish classics are always crowd-pleasers. Bring old friends and meet new people as you shake that thing!

Thursday Night: DJ Wüdi

Doc and Marty traveled to 2015. Snake Plissken escaped LA in 2013 and NY in 1997. The world ended in 2012. We traveled to Jupiter in 2010 (and 2001). Cloverfield destroyed New York, and the freejack Alex ran from Victor in 2009. Terminators menaced or protected us from the 1980s through the 2000s. Films and their soundtracks are a great way to remember the future. Come join DJ Wüdi on Thursday for a night of dance, club, and science fiction sounds from our past, future, and future past!

Friday Night: Dancin’ Dan

Dancin’ Dan is back, and it’s about TIME. Dan’s been travelling with The Doctor, helping him get his groove back. Now he returns to Norwescon with a retro theme, covering the most popular dance beats from all over time. This year, the focus is on the 1970’s. So break out those Halston dresses and polyester leisure suits and accessorize to the max for Norwescon’s Studio 54. We’ll also pay our respects to the Space Oddity himself: Ziggy Stardust, The Man Who Fell to Earth.

Saturday Night: DJ Teeebone

There has been an awakening… Have you felt it? Arriving to Norwescon from a galaxy too close for comfort, DJ teeebone will be serving up his unique blend of classic rock, pop, mashups, and con favorites Star Wars style!

NWC39 Song Request

Our DJs are here to keep you happy, and are happy to play requests! Tell us what you'd like to hear and when you'd like to hear it, and we'll do our best to come prepared!
  • Don't worry if you don't know, this just makes it easier for our DJs to track down the more obscure stuff.
  • Is there a particular reason for this request? Anything you'd like to add to sweet-talk the DJ? Half-remembered lyrics of that one track that one DJ played kinda late, but not too late, last con, on the Friday night dance, but might have been Saturday, maybe even Thursday, but probably Friday, that was really good and got everybody going, but you've never been able to quite track it down? Yeah, that one!

Questions, comments, and suggestions can be sent to Special Events through our contact page!
