Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Speculative Film Festival!
It was announced on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Norwescon 47 in SeaTac, Washington, that the winner for the distinguished original science fiction paperback published for the first time during 2024 in the U.S.A. is TIME’S AGENT by Brenda Peynado (Tordotcom). Special citation was given to ALIEN CLAY by Adrian Tchaikovsky (Orbit).
Get a glimpse of the programming coming up at Norwescon 47, speed friending is back, we have lots of geeky comedy options, dances every night, a Magic: The Gathering mystery booster, masquerade deadlines are close, and highlighting some audiobook panels.
Past, present, and future Norwescon volunteers are invited to join our annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on Sunday, July 27, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Steel Lake Park picnic shelter #1 in Federal Way.

Our Writer Guest of Honor, the schedule and Guidebook are live, supporting Page Ahead, Single Pattern Contest and Masquerade applications are open, lots of games, about our info table, this year’s Nebula Notes ‘zine, hotel parking info, audio book panels, the Little Free Library, looking for volunteers, photos with Krampus and Santa, and our summer volunteer appreciation picnic. Whew!
