Every day brings us a little bit closer to Norwescon 40, and while we still have a few finishing touches to put on our full programming schedule before it’s announced to the world, we’re happy to debut our Workshops and our Youth Programming!

Writer Guest of Honor Cancellation

We are very sorry to announce that our planned Writer Guest of Honor, Charles de Lint, has let us know that he has had to cancel his appearance at Norwescon 40. He passed on his deep regrets, and hopes that he will be able to join us in the future.

Youth Writers Workshop

EMP Museum is excited to partner with The Fairwood Writers group and Norwescon to kick off the call for submissions for EMPs 2017 Write Out Of This World: Science Fiction and Fantasy Short Story Contest by offering a Youth Writers Workshop.

The Norwescon short story book club is a venue for anyone with a love for short stories to come together to discuss genre short stories. Please join us on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 6–8 p.m. at Wayward Coffeehouse for discussion.

2016 Philip K. Dick Award Winner Announced

It was announced on Friday, March 29, at Norwescon 39, in SeaTac, Washington, that the winner for the distinguished original science fiction paperback published for the first time during 2015 in the U.S.A. is APEX by Ramez Naam (Angry Robot Books). Special citation was given to ARCHANGEL by Marguerite Reed (Arche Press).
