We are group costume enthusiasts who share our passion for costuming by teaching others our techniques, learning from others, and exhibiting our costumes. We welcome costumers of all types, including fantasy and science fiction costumers, historical costumers, SCA costumers, reenactors, dancers, theatrical costumers, professional costumers, and hobbyists.
BritCon is the Pacific Northwest’s own British sci-fi and fantasy convention. Coming to you virtually August 6–8, 2021!
For over 35 years, Clarion West has been held in Seattle, WA. Our program was founded on the belief that writers from diverse backgrounds need an opportunity to be heard–and to experiment with new forms of storytelling. Writers are crucial to today’s conversations because they inspire future generations of thoughtful readers, thinkers, and leaders.
While the past year has been full of challenges, the pandemic also provided Clarion West a unique opportunity to grow our online programming. We were able to adapt nimbly, and our classes, panels, and summer activities were incredibly well-received. Altogether, Clarion West held 112 online classes and workshops for 1,500 unique participants, including 79 youth between ages 14-18. Information about our online classes can be found on our website. Our outreach programs also moved online. All our readings and events were held free and live streamed via YouTube, with over 2,200 combined views to date. Our streaming videos are available on YouTube.
Our three-year plan to increase our organizational capacity is even more audacious. We intend to host all of our programs in accessible spaces, hold space for marginalized writers in all of our classes, offer a greater diversity of workshop and class formats, and provide more alumni programming to follow the six-week workshop.
Operating since 2007, Crypticon Seattle is the largest convention of its type in the Pacific Northwest. Its fans travel from all across the region extending from Vancouver, British Columbia to Eugene, Oregon, including Portland and the greater Seattle area. Fans come to meet their favorite celebrities and to watch the latest films—many of which make their premiere at Crypticon!
Gem State Comic ConGem State Comic Con is a pop culture and comic convention in Boise, Idaho that celebrates all fandoms. It is a day of fun for the entire family where there are no strangers—just the friends you haven’t met yet. Come meet celebrity guests, shop from local vendors, chat with artists, cosplay, play tabletop and video games, and more. Most importantly, create memories for years to cherish. We are laid-back, fun, and for everyone!
Welcome to the fantable of the Bid to Host a Worldcon in Glasgow in 2024. Glasgow is a vibrant city filled with science fiction, fantasy and inventiveness. Our team aims to bring our love of these to our Bid to host the 82nd Worldcon.
Our chosen venue is the Scottish Event Campus, Glasgow. Under its previous name as the SECC, Glasgow has hosted two previous Worldcons: Intersection in 1995, and Interaction in 2005. We are delighted to be able to revisit the SEC Campus, which has seen considerable growth in the last few years, including new onsite hotels, restaurants and development inside the convention center itself. It will serve as a hub for a fantastic Worldcon.
Glasgow was the European City of Culture in 2014, and used this year to really develop its cultural scene. This continues today with a huge emphasis on the local and regional importance of arts, creativity, and performance. Glasgow also has numerous quirky museums and places to visit, and of course, there’s lots of whisky, including a distillery attached to the SEC.
We need your help to bring the Worldcon back to Glasgow! You can become a Supporter or Friend of Glasgow in 2024, enabling us to fund our campaign costs. All our supporters receive our undying thanks and (if you’d like) a listing on our website.
With over 100,000 registered libraries in over 108 countries, the Little Free Library is a “give a book, take a book” free book exchange. While we can’t hold our physical LFL at Norwescon this year, we can still celebrate all things book! Drop by to chat with other readers, and check out our schedule for Book Club discussions on such topics as Jaqueline Carey’s works, the Philip K Dick Awards, and the Norwescon Bibliophiles book club.
The Seattle-based Northwest Science Fiction Society (NWSFS) has been serving the needs of the science fiction community in the Pacific Northwest since 1978. Our members can be found in numerous states, plus Canada. Though oriented towards literary forms of science fiction, the interests of our members cover all aspects of the field, and we reflect their diversity. Whether you are a reader, dreamer, media fan, professional, or just someone who likes science fiction in all its forms, there is something for you.
Welcome to The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association. We exist to celebrate the work of David Weber and the universe he has created in his Honor Harrington books. As an organization, we are structured much like the world that David has created. There are many opportunities to participate in any role you would like! Within TRMN you can be a member of the Manticoran military in the Royal Manticoran Navy, Marines, or Army. Or, you can participate as a Grayson, Andermani, or Republic of Haven naval member. If you are not as interested in the military side of things, you can be a civilian in government, work in Astro Control, or serve on a Merchant Marine ship. We have gone to great lengths to make sure we are as true to the books as possible, using the books and direct input from David Weber and BuNine as our guide to creating a cohesive, fun organization. Whether you like to cosplay or just get together with friends for games, movies, and fellowship, the TRMN is a place for you!
Our members include over 5,000 people from 46 countries/territories! Are you interested in being a part of our exciting adventure? The official charity of the organization is Big Cat Rescue. Their bobcat, Max, is our official mascot.

Seattle 2025 is a bid to invite the Worldcon community to our city to experience Pacific Northwest fan culture and to engage with our fandom community of learners, readers, doers, makers, and creators. We want to bring the Worldcon community back to experience Seattle and to give the members of the local community who cannot travel the opportunity to learn from and create with our Worldcon community.
To accomplish the above, we will make diversity, inclusion, access, and affordability separate, yet intertwined, poles of all of our plans and planning. This will come from the top down and includes current work to reach out to under-represented groups to join our bid and to be advisors in areas where we lack lived experience.
We acknowledge that we are bidding to host a Worldcon on the unceded traditional lands of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish people. A people that are still here, who are still creating, and who are still stewards of their land.
Come to the Wild, Wild Westercon!
Westercon 74 will be held July 1–4, 2022, in Tonopah, Nevada, at the Tonopah Convention Center, Mizpah/Belvada, and other area hotels. Tonopah is located halfway between Reno and Las Vegas at the intersection of US-95 and US-6, with hundreds of hotel rooms and plenty of space in which to spread out. We have full run of the convention center for 24-hour use, including the use of the convention center kitchen and bar (we have to provide the supplies, though).
Tonopah is the last of the big silver boom towns, surrounded by the high tech of the early 20th century. You want steampunk? We’ve got your originals right here! In addition, the beautifully restored Mizpah Hotel takes pride of place as one of the country’s “most haunted” hotels. Its sister property, the Belvada, completed a top-to-bottom total renovation in October 2020. Other quirky (and affordable) hotels are within walking distance, including the world-famous Clown Motel. With some of the darkest skies in the country and a dedicated town stargazing park, Tonopah is an ideal place to bring your telescope for nighttime views you won’t get in the city. There is plenty of room to spread out and maintain social distancing as we take advantage of the wide-open spaces of western Nevada.
