Dances
There are typically three dances at Norwescon. They are held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and are open to all ages. They each have a unique theme and set of DJs.
Thursday – Thursday Night Hoedown
This ain’t your parents’ square dance! Put on your best dancing shoes and help us kick off Norwescon with DJ mc300baud and his eclectic mix of tracks. Expect the unexpected as he spins rave, wave, goth, alternative, rock, electronica, and more late into the night. He won’t let up until the cows come home.
Friday – Carnaval de Stardance
Come celebrate Mardi Gras-style as DJ Request and DJ Rohkan spin the mixes deep into the night. Don’t forget to attend the mask making panel earlier in the day to create your very own mask for the ball . . . or be one of the first 150 people to the door and get a free Mardi Gras mask.
Saturday – It’s Saturday Night!!!!
Join our new DJ Dancin’ Dan as he plays for you the best party hits of all time.
You’ll hear it all, from the rock & roll hits of the ’50s, to the Motown sound of the ’60s;
party to the disco era of the ’70s and the new wave sound of the ’80s; show off your moves to the urban pop of the ’90s, and hip-hop sounds that kicked off the millennium.
Dan will also live up to his name by joining in on some popular group dances too.

Norwescon 34 Scheduled Gaming returns with your favorite tabletop, card, and miniature war games. We provide some of the earliest scheduled events at the convention, and keep going until the con doors close! This year, we will have longer hours to fill with even more games.
If you want to schedule a game or three, contact us at Special Events and we’ll reserve table space for you, as well as post information about your game in advance at the Norwescon website. If you want us to try to find someone to run a game for you, contact us as well. We’d happily like to hear from both individuals and game companies wishing to present their products through demos or regular games.
As always, if space allows, you’re welcome to come in and play any of the pickup games in our gaming library, or start a game with your friends.
In addition to great games provided by dozens of game masters, we will have a Grand Prize drawing for everyone who participates in or runs a scheduled game. Details and pictures will be provided at a later date.

Fannish Fetish Fashion Show
Good bye Evergreen, Hello Grand 3!!!
That’s right folks the Fannish Fetish Fashion show is taking over the Grand Ballroom! This year, we plan to make the show BIGGER, BETTER, and even more BADASS! So, let’s celebrate the move with a costume contest! We want to see you in your grandest fetish attire. Prizes will be awarded to the grandest of the grand. Also keep an eye on the NWC website for show and designer updates.
The Fannish Fetish Fashion Show is Friday night, and is for members 18 and over so don’t forget your ID.
Masquerade
The Norwescon Masquerade is the highlight of Saturday night at Norwescon. Click here for information about last year’s event.
New this year will be a shorter runway. It has been cut in half to allow for greater use of the stage during the rest of the con. This way, the runway does not have to be taken down during the weekend. To help this along, we are getting new spots that have a shorter throw and they will be placed in Grand 3 this year with the stage. This will allow panels to use Grand 3 with the stage, runway and spotlights while another panel is in Grand 2. We are very excited about the extra panel space this will provide for our excellent guests this year.
The Masquerade is looking for two types of volunteers: assistants and performers.
The assistants help make the show go off without a problem. There is a need for stage ninjas (must be 16+ yrs.), den parents, ushers, door guards, etc. If you would like to help, please contact the Masquerade director. You will become a part of Company Lumbo-Tire for the weekend.
The performers are up on stage showing off the costumes that make up the meat of our show. If you would like to present a costume that will impress the audience and judges, this option is for you. No experience required; there is time to ask questions and practice in advance of the event.
Come one, Come all. Let us make this one of the best Masquerades ever.

The Fourth Kind
Our Science GoH in absentia, Marie D. Jones, has a personal connection to our Saturday Midnight movie, The Fourth Kind. Marie was a consultant on it and through her several decades of paranormal and abduction research, she brought great insight to the movie when it came to things like trigger objects, time prompts and other commonalities of abductions. The movie is based on actual case studies of alien abductions. It is a thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover up. Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) began videotaping sessions with traumatized patients and unwittingly discovered some of the most disturbing evidence of alien abduction ever documented. Do the numbers 3:33 or 11:11 mean anything to you? If so, you have to come see this movie. PG-13

The Camarilla – A World of Darkness Fan club
Friday 9 pm-2am Maxi’s Ballroom
Saturday Noon-5 pm Maxi’s Ballroom
Saturday 9 pm-2 am Maxi’s Ballroom
See you there! 18+ with ID only
For the last twenty years, fans of White Wolf’s “World of Darkness” system have had one official fan club providing a truly global live-action interactive roleplaying experience: The Camarilla. Born right here in the Northwest, this fan-run organization has been going strong across the US and the world for much of the last two decades. Though Vampire: the Masquerade was perhaps its best-known face, Camarilla members were far more than clove-smoking goths in black trench coats – they were also dedicated to community service and charity work. Whether it was old-school gothic horror roleplay or raising money for worthy causes, The Camarilla has stood the test of time as a fan club with an equal emphasis on imagination and service. The Camarilla went through a reorganization in 2001, coming closer to White Wolf, and now in 2011 it is reinvigorated once more as a not-for-profit fan club embracing a wide array of games, genres and themes. We welcome all those age 18 and older who can’t get enough of vampires and werewolves, mages and ghosts, live-action and tabletop and CCG – and all the global World of Darkness live-action roleplay you can handle! Join us! If you’d like a taste of what there is to offer, there will be games held this weekend from 9PM to 2AM Friday and Saturday nights and 12PM to 5PM Saturday afternoon at the top of the tower in Maxi’s Ballroom. See you there!
