Volunteers are the lifeblood of any convention, and Norwescon is no different. Volunteering provides the opportunity to contribute to a successful convention while you are attending panels, meeting and mingling with authors and artists, viewing the inside workings of a convention, and meeting other fans like yourself. Most of the opportunities to volunteer do not require any specialized skills, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.

Norwescon awards “Volunteer Tokens” to help identify those people who have given their time to the convention. This year the volunteer tokens represent the theme of putting the science into science fiction with buttons illustrating the evolution of the volunteer, from an amoeba to a super brain, based on the number of hours donated to the convention.

There will also be other awards for the top volunteers and top club or group.

We also feed our volunteers! Last year, it was reported that the Volunteers Lounge had the best food at the convention.

Please think about helping us run Norwescon and contact the Volunteer department at volunteers at norwescon.org to let us know where you can lend us a hand.
