Preliminary panel list.

Artists Alley

We have something new and exciting for you! Norwescon is pleased to present the Artists Alley. Located in the open area of the 2nd floor, between Wings 4 and 5 of the hotel, it will feature a selection of artists available to create sketchs, small drawings, or other incredible pieces of art just for you and at a very reasonable price. This is something you will not want to miss!

The Norwescon 27 Great Science Debate

Are we alone? The Fermi paradox asks, "If there is intelligent life out there, why haven't they dropped by for a visit." The book Rare Earths presents a detailed argument that suggests we may be the only intelligent species in our galaxy. Another possibility is that Earth may be the only planet with complex life forms. But is this the actual state of affairs? Recent research challenges some of the claims made in the book. Please join our panelists as they debate the merits of the arguments in Rare Earths. This is one panel you won't want to miss! The Norwescon 27 Great Science Debate is sure to be one of the highlights of the convention. Be there on Saturday, April 10th for this action-packed event.

Lazer Tag is 18 Years Old!

Dust off your Worlds of Wonder Lazer Tag set for Norwescon 27. We will have a time warp back to 1986 so fire up your StarLyte or StarLytePro and see you in the arena.

For More Information, contact Scott Perrin at MercatLine at aol.com.

Norwescon Honors

Norwescon Honors is a special event that introduces the Norwescon 27 Guests of Honor to the membership and honors them for their incredible and numerous contributions to the genre. We will have special ways to honor these giants of the field and you won’t want to miss this opportunity to mingle and talk with some of the biggest names in science fiction.

Norwescon Honors will be on Friday, April 9. Check the Programming Grid as the convention draws nearer for the exact time.

The Norwescon 27 SCA Faire

Join the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) for an informative afternoon that will begin with an introduction to the SCA followed by an overview of different armored combat styles, and Medieval arts and sciences demonstrations.

The SCA is a not-for-profit educational organization that studies the history and culture of the Middle Ages by recreating it. For more information on the SCA visit their web page at www.sca.org.
