No Room for Your Cloak of Invisibility

This entry was published on March 7, 2017 and may be out of date. For the most current information on this year's Norwescon, please see our most recent blog posts. Thank you!

Did you know that Norwescon is a totally volunteer run convention? Are you a member of the convention that uses the Norwescon Cloak Room to store your belongings during the day? Well, we have some hard news to relay to you. At this time, we will be running the cloak room on a very limited basis during this year’s convention.

The wonderful person and his team of people who have been volunteering to run the cloakroom the last few years have decided to take on other positions with the convention, which is always exciting for us. But this has left a hole in a very valuable service to you.

We are looking for a person interested in joining the Norwescon team of volunteers. This person would oversee the operations of the room, coordinating staff and member volunteers.

And speaking of volunteering — are you part of a fan group that would like to earn extra volunteer hours? We’ve got a deal for you! If your organization would like to sign up to take on a block or two of hours in the cloakroom, you could earn double credit for your volunteer hours. Please contact us at volunteers@norwescon.org.

Here are the current planned hours for the Cloak Room:

  • Friday:
    • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    • 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Saturday:
    • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    • 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Sunday:
    • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

And just a final thought: even a few hours helping would be greatly appreciated by the convention and your fellow fans.

Thanks,

Membership Service Team.
